New responsibilities and obligations for companies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Bill 25 imposes new responsibilities and obligations on companies. One of these obligations is the designation of a person responsible for the protection of personal information. This person must be clearly identified, and his or her contact details must be published on the company's website, or by any other appropriate means. This measure is designed to ensure greater transparency and facilitate communication between companies and the individuals concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the event of a privacy incident involving personal information, companies will be obliged to take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of harm. In addition, they must inform the Commission and the individuals concerned if the incident presents a serious risk. A register of incidents must also be kept, and a copy sent to the Commission at its request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Progressive compliance up to 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Bill 25 provides for gradual compliance by companies. Various stages of compliance are planned up to September 2024. It is essential that companies plan and implement the necessary measures within the deadlines to fully comply with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
